Nothing has changed since 1995. Ideas, reality and markets don’t meet, and organizations need people who trust creative problem-solving, who believe in cooperation and embrace controlled risk-taking. Luovi’s original business idea was productization – refining new products to the market. Luovi was the first design producer in Finland who took the task of developing new bestsellers for various target groups together with the designers.
Everything has changed. The world looked completely different 20 years ago. In 1995, designers created ideas for physical products, not services. There were no online stores, and nobody understood to care about social media. Today, we are moving towards the fourth industrial revolution. The Internet of Things, 3D printing, customized products, robotics, urbanization, networked society… In twenty years design has landed a bigger role than ever.
Luovi leaps to its third decade just as enthusiastic as we were in the beginning. Thanks to Helsinki Design Week, the second decade expanded our operations, and we now have ministries, city administrations, cultural organizations, higher education and universities, industries, retail trade, design consultants and studios, the media and tens of thousands citizens and consumers among our stakeholder groups. Luovi has created thousands of encounters between these stakeholder groups. In the future, we’ll work to promote more interactive internationality.
